Chokers Are Back! 5 Ways to wear ’em

August 18, 2016

When it comes to fashion trends, we all know that what goes around comes around, and there’s no trend more ’90s than the choker. This throat-hugging accessory has been spotted on celebs and models everywhere lately! If you want to wear one without looking like a character from “Clueless,” check out these styling tips and tricks.

Look No. 1: The Layered Choker

For a casual everyday look, layer a thin beaded choker with a longer chain necklace and pair them with a distressed v-neck tee and your favorite jeans. You can’t go wrong with this one!

Look No. 2: The Velvet Choker

Have a formal event coming up? Wear a thick velvet or stacked rhinestone choker with a strapless or one-shouldered dress or a slim-cut tuxedo jacket with a plunging neckline. Pull your hair up into a slick topknot for maximum drama.

Look No. 3: The Leather Choker

Rock a leather band choker with a bohemian blouse and cutoff shorts. Pair with a loose and wavy hairstyle or sweet braid and now you’re ready for a music fest or a laidback picnic!

Look No. 4: The Charm Choker

Choose a corded choker with a metallic charm to channel your mood for the day, whether that’s a romantic flower, a cheerful sun or a wistful dreamcatcher. Just add a printed sundress and strappy flat sandals and your outfit is complete!

Look No. 5: The Braided Choker

Wear a braided choker with an off-the-shoulder or cold-shoulder top draw focus to your neckline and face. Keep the rest of your outfit more understated with basic dark denim or sleek leggings and booties. Now you’re ready for date night!

I love chokers, but it’s important to know how to do the chokers trend right, so you don’t end up walking out the door looking like a ’90s goth. 🙂

Haha, you are right – not everyone is entirely sure exactly how to wear a choker. Leather choker is my favorite.
