It can be so sad once the holidays pass and it’s time to take down the twinkling lights and decor. That being said, I’m starting a new series for the next couple months all about refreshing spaces in your homes! So today I’m sharing a little living room refresh I did with Gordmans!

When redecorating a space comes to mind it can be quite overwhelming. I prefer to use the term refresh! I like using refresh because to me it signifies you are just enhancing a space you already have and doesn’t mean you have to purge every single thing and buy all new. Refreshing can be introducing a few key new pieces with what you already have and “shopping” your own home.

Heading into my local Gordmans I always know I can find decor that fits my style for amazing prices! This time was no different, I went in with a plan of a couple things I knew I wanted which made the process a lot easier. One of my main focuses for this refresh was to find something larger for my mantle and then a few bright decor elements to brighten up the built in shelves.

I was most excited to find that large greige ginger jar for my mantle. It was $30 which I thought was such a great price for such a large piece. Most ginger jars aren’t my style but I loved the size, shape and neutral color of this one. I’m not set on my mantle set up, I would like to find a decent sized round mirror to put up there but for now it will do!

Now, let’s focus on the shelves. Decorating shelves is definitely a process, you might have seen the process on my Instagram stories last week. It’s a lot of trial and error until you find a combination of what you like! I used a lot of items I already had like books and some smaller pieces to complete my groupings (always go for groups of odd numbers!). Then of course I added in some other finds from Gordmans. How fun are those set of 3 ceramic white vases?

Last but not least, this room was lacking some light especially after all my twinkling Christmas lights had to come down. While this room has two windows it only has three cans at the front of the room at the fireplace end and nothing in the middle/back part. I originally had an arc floor lamp in this space which I liked aesthetically but it didn’t provide much light. So a couple lamps to go on our console table were on my list! I was super pumped when I found this pair of aged brass lamps on clearance at Gordmans! They provide much more light and I have them synced on my smart outlets so I can tell Alexa when I want them on or off. She’s the best.

I’m so happy with how this refresh turned out, I have a couple fun other refresh updates for this space to share with you soon so be on the lookout for those and for the rest of my refresh series!
