The holidays are always a busy time with family gatherings, dinner parties, and other celebrations. We spend time decorating our homes, hanging festive lights, and of course preparing the food. But oftentimes the guest room gets forgotten. We partnered with Sarah of Life On Virginia Street to share how she preps her home for guests during the holiday season!
Tip #1: Layers and Texture
Adding extra layers and texture to any room gives it a cozy feeling that everyone will enjoy. It’s also nice to provide ample pillows and blankets so guests can add more, depending on their temperature preference. We like how Sarah added some character to her guest room by furnishing it with lots of textured pillows and a fluffy throw at the foot of the bed.
Tip #2: Art for the Walls
Make a focal point in the guest bedroom with a fun gallery wall. Hanging several beautiful picture frames or a statement mirror adds visual interest and makes the space feel more like home.
Tip #3: Stock the Bathroom
Set a tray on top of your bathroom counter filled with essentials so guests can help themselves without feeling invasive. Add an extra touch by filling glass jars with necessities and travel-sized items in case a guest forgot something. Give it a pop of color with some pretty greenery, set out your coziest towels, and you’re all set!
Tip #4: Little Details
Add magazines on the bedside table, provide water and snacks for convenience, and make sure to have a reading lamp handy for the perfect lighting.
