A bright, casual and fun summer Sunday brunch decked out in navy, white and green.
Hello friends! If you’re in the midwest like me, you’ve likely heard of Gordmans. They are an off-price retailer. What is an off-price retailer you ask? Off-price retailers buy excess inventory from department and specialty stores, then sell it at greatly reduced prices. I love stores like this, because I always find the best deals on clothing and home decor.
Pretty much everything is a bargain treasure. If know that if I like something, I had better buy it that day. Tip: Walk through the store slowly, and look at everything. I walked through the the home decor department at least a dozen times, and if I looked at a display from from a different angle, I would always see something I hadn’t noticed before.
The best brunches include comfort food, Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas, and good company. How cute is this table?! I really do love how it turned out. Stylish, but not too fussy. Do you like my fruit colander? It was $5! That copper mixing bowl was $3! They had these fun kelly green frying pans at a stellar price that I wish I had gotten. I should have listened to my own advice and snatched them up!
One of my House New Year’s Resolutions was to get a set of all white dishes that match my almost all white kitchen. I got this 40-piece set of dishes for eight place settings for $40! And they are solid dishes. I don’t think I’ve put a box in my cart that fast before.
That little green leaf bowl is perfect for meals, or it could be used on it’s own for decor. I love the white pineapple and the green fruit basket. Both are still riding the trend train right now, so I snatched those up. I think the pineapple will find a home on the floating shelves in my kitchen, and the green basket will hold my salt and pepper shakers.
Are you wondering about that fun runner on my table? Y’all, it’s actually a rug! I found it for $15 and it’s perfect for this table. It adds a lot of texture and warmth to my modern table. The pillows on the two chairs also have a diamond pattern to compliment the rug runner. They’re super soft and would look great on my sofa or in one of the bedrooms.
Everything was less than $150 total!
- the rug on the table
- two throw pillows
- a colander
- copper mixing bowl
- 40-piece dish set
- drink dispenser
- wood cooking utensils
- white pineapple
- green “fruit basket”
- green leaf bowl
- four drinking glasses
- green hydrangeas
- carafe (for Bloody Mary’s!)
- The carafe is a nice heavy glass so it won’t tip easily. And the large drink dispenser pours so nicely. For perspective, that’s a gallon of orange juice in it, so it’s pretty big. And it was easy to clean up.
Gordmans is changing the off-price retailer game by working hard to offer you more deals and more style than ever before. They have a map of where all of their stores are located on their website in case you’re wondering about the closest store. The associates in the store were so sweet and helpful. They didn’t mind that I stayed for almost three hours and a had very overflowing cart when I checked out. The sweet high school age gal at the cash register asked if I just moved into a house or was having a party? I told her I was a blogger and she was so excited! She asked me what my Instagram name was and if she could follow me. She was adorable. Gotta love the midwest
I hope you all enjoyed my summer Sunday brunch spread. I’m pretty excited about what I got and I know you’ll see these items pop up a lot in future posts!
Happy decorating and DIY’ing!
