Easter & Kentucky Oaks day are coming in hot. Have you picked out what you’re going to wear yet? I recently took a trip to Gordmans on a mission to find the BEST affordable Derby dress options.
Visiting my local Gordmans store is always like an exciting treasure hunt; I never know what goodies I’ll end up finding to bring home. On my most recent trip, I hoped to find some dresses that could work for Easter, Spring weddings, Derby, an Mother’s Day. This first option immediately caught my eye. The blush, baby blue, and navy color combo is a personal favorite for spring. If you’re a regular blog reader, you likely know that I love all kinds of stripes. These vertical, pastel stripes are no exception!
After I picked this dress, I knew I had a fascinator that would match for Oaks day, but I still needed a clutch. I picked out this blush and gold chain crossbody from Gordmans. The fact that you can carry it as a clutch or crossbody is super handy and this smaller size works for Churchill Downs, date night, and wedding season.
Instead of going for a bold color combination, I picked out neutral pieces that let this dress stand out. By pairing the blush midi dress with nude pumps and a snakeskin crossbody purse, the attention really remains on this midi number and the beautiful look of the lace! This would be a great option for a wedding guest dress this spring and also would be easy to dress down by throwing a moto or jean jacket over.
