Social distancing has been the perfect excuse for a lot of us to get our streaming on. Hours of isolation means hours of TV shows and movies to catch up on! So…yay! But the current situation also has many of us watching our pennies. So…boo.

Want some good news? Yeah, thought you would! There are tons of streaming services and other entertainment to access on your television, computer or phone that are being offered for the low, low price of FREE right now! Yaaaas!

Starting with everyone’s favorite way to chill…

Netflix is and always has been free for a full 30 days! With a ton of movies and TV shows from around the world, plus original programming, you can probably fill out your streaming schedule with just this service for the whole FREE-king month! Might we suggest bingeing the entire American version of The Office? It’ll keep your spirits up while you hunker down. That’s what she said.

Amazon Prime Video is also free for 30 days and also has a tonnage of viewing options. If you’re already a Prime member, DUDE! You’re already a Prime Video subscriber! Congrats! If not, you can sign up for Prime, use the service for 30 days and cancel. Or you can pay for a year at $119 or monthly.

Hulu also has a 30-day free trial, but don’t get it confused with Hulu + Live TV, which is only a 7-day trial. The regular Hulu lets you watch shows that are on TV right now the next day after they air. So go ahead and get caught up with The Masked Singer and start live-tweeting your guesses, baby! (Banana is totally Bret Michael, you guys.) Oh, Hulu also has a bunch of popular movies and some sweet original content.

CBS All Access has taken off in popularity lately due to shows you can’t get anywhere else like Star Trek: Picard. Through April 23, you can get a free 30 days of the service with promo code ALL or GIFT. After that, it’s $6/month.

Shudder is a niche service from AMC Networks that streams horror and thriller content. If the current crisis isn’t scary enough for ya, get a free 30 days of Shudder with promo code SHUTIN. After that, plans start at 4.75/month.

Sundance Now from AMC Networks is also offering a free 30-day trial with promo code SUNDANCENOW30 if indie films are more your thing.

Sling TV, which is normally a $30-$45 month for its cable alternative programming, is offering free access to some news and entertainment channels (ABC News Live, Fox News, kids’ shows, etc.) without having to sign up for the paid service. If you do want to sign up, Sling TV also offers a 7-day free trial.

Pluto TV is a streaming cable alternative with over 250 channels and thousands of on-demand movies and TV shows and IT’S ALWAYS FREE!

Crackle is another COMPLETELY FREE, ad-supported streaming service with all kinds of TV shows, movies and original content.

Okay, so if you simply can’t survive on just TV shows, movies and news, there are some super cool options for the more cultured among us. Get this…

The Metropolitan Opera, also known worldwide as The Met, is streaming free encore presentations of its Live in HD series.

Amazon Prime Video, mentioned earlier, also has several Broadway plays like Rent and Cats available for streaming for members (or those who take advantage of the 30-day free trial)!

And, if music is your jam and you are totally jonesing for a concert, tons of some of the most popular artists in the world are live streaming shows on their social media accounts. Follow your faves on Instagram or Facebook to see if they’re offering any free online concerts.

So many choices, so…much…time. In the spirit of staying socially connected while socially distant, tell us what you’re watching!
